A Special Coronavirus Update From Our Commodore
As all of you are well aware, following “social distancing” and personal cleanliness guidelines is the most effective way to slow the still-rapid spread of the Coronavirus. Our nation and our state are setting restrictions in place that we all need to follow to do our part in fighting this pandemic. PPYC has from the outset been among the organizations which are doing all they can to help create the environment that should result from these restrictions. While we know this environment is disruptive to our daily lives in the short term, we believe the short-term inconveniences will prove to have been worth the sacrifices we are making. Therefore, we have expanded the list of previously-announced cancellations to include cancellation of all planned club-sponsored activities on our Events Calendar through May 15.
The first event after that is the Galen Freeman One Design Regatta on May 16, and we are hoping — and currently planning — to proceed with it and resume all subsequent events on our calendar at that time.
The Club Boat Committee is actively formulating their recommendations for club boat use restrictions to be submitted soon to the Board, and when a policy has been finalized a communication will be sent to all Club Boat Program members.
Our Board will re-evaluate the situation during the first week of May, and we will get something out about how things stand at that time.
Boat owners, as always, can make their own decisions about using them, but should of course follow social distancing and personal cleanliness guidelines in doing so. Also, please be aware that Hamilton Creek Park is closed, which means that the restroom facilities at the clubhouse are not available.

Our club exists because of people like you who love the sport of sailing. We look forward to getting back to our normal schedule of opportunities for sailing and fellowship among fellow sailors, and we thank you for your patience during the early weeks of our main season.
