Oktoberfest Regatta and Catalina Cup

This regatta has been cancelled [see paragraph below] — but we’re not going to let that stop us from doing some racing anyway — just a bit less formal. Here’s the plan:

This Saturday October 2nd we will sail the Wednesday night course as usual, but with a zero start time of 12:00 noon rather than 6:00pm. If there are enough who wish to do so, we can do it twice. No registration, no skipper’s meeting, no awards, just a day of fun on the water. Unless the weather is terrible, we hope to see you then!

By the way, the Oktoberfest Regatta cancellation provides an opportunity to remind everyone how important Volunteering is to our club. Conducting regattas requires a considerable amount of support. We would appreciate your support by volunteering in one of the positions in the upcoming Equalizer Regatta. The Equalizer is our biggest regatta of the year and will have Professional’s, two Sail makers and Olympic sailors from: Mi, Mo, FL, MD, KY, IN, OH, WS, and of course TN. We have hired a professional PRO and Judge for this event. The regatta will be for both S2 7.9 and J22’s. If you have any interest in learning new tips on sailing from Professionals, Sail makers, or Olympians (whether racing or cruising,) or just want to ask them questions, this is a great opportunity for you.
