***EARLY BIRD REGISTRATION FOR OKTOBERFEST ENDS TUESDAY, SEPT 22nd at MIDNIGHT.***

This has been the hottest summer of record in over 100 years. We’ve canceled more events this season due to the heat index, than any in memory.

Once again, we’ve postponed the Sept 19 Pot Luck due to weather forecast of 98 degrees. Ugh….

Despite the setbacks with the heat, the Club continues to put on a strong season. This few weeks have been filled with wind, enthusiastic sailing and time on the lake.

From the Sunday Dingy Series, to the Member Only Learning at the Helm, and great evenings of Wednesday Night Racing, so many folks are getting out on the lake over multiple late afternoon sails.

With three of our main weekly events winding down, notable dates include:

Sunday Small Boat Series: Concluded & Moved to HIYC

Learning at the Helm: Final Tuesday - Sept 29

Wednesday Night Races: Final Race - Sept 30; Awards - Oct 7 @ 6:00pm

Needless to say, the Club enters the Fall portion of the sailing season with anticipation for cooler days and good wind.

Upcoming Planned Sailing Events include:

Octoberfest: Sept 26 - Registration early bird ends Tuesday, so please register this weekend! We also need RC volunteers.

Equalizer: Oct 17-18

Fall Off: Nov 7

Kamikaze: Dec 6

Eager sailors came out to experience sailboat racing at the Rookie Race last Saturday. The wind was challenging but thanks to a creative race committee we were able to get in a race.
