Greetings, PPYC
With August quickly upon us, the Club is gearing up for the Fall season of club regattas and social events. First on the agenda is the September 12 Rookie Race, followed by the September 26 Octoberfest regatta. September will also include a Labor Day Fireworks outing, a Pot-Luck, and Octoberfest party. We may also organize a Raft-Up for a Saturday in August, if there is interest.
In preparation for these events, September LATH will adjust to members only and will include an “intro to racing” option for those who are interested in the Rookie Race. This LATH option will be a low-key instructional format for less experienced members to learn the details of a sailboat race.
The Rookie Race has always been one of the most fun events of the season. Our Race Coaches do an amazing job with this event. Don’t miss out. Clear your calendar, and take advantage of this super-fun opportunity to improve your sailing skills.
Don’t worry, September LATH will also continue to have a sunset cruise option for those who just want to go out and enjoy the lake.
For Octoberfest, we are focusing our attention on encouraging each and every skipper of our Catalina fleet to participate. If we get enough boats, there will be a special award for the top Catalina Skipper. There also will be other incentives to revitalize this long-time club race and after-party. More details to follow.
Happy Sailing!
