Hey Folks,

Winter isn’t over yet, but Spring is in sight (I hope). If you are as ready as I am to get back out sailing and socializing at the lake, here are a few things coming up.

Coastal Navigation class – Saturday 22 Feb. - Great Chance to sharpen those navigation skills. We certainly don’t test them very much here.
Food preparation and safety Class – Saturday 1 March - Chef Richard will share his secrets and how to avoid “intestinal” problems! -Think we will eat well too!
Splicing and Whipping class - Sat 8 March – The broad use of dyneema lines has made splicing simpler and even more important since dyneema can be so slippery when knotted. Come out and learn some cool tricks!
Commodore Meet and Greet – Saturday 15 March -Come out and meet the PPYC board and especially bring your ideas on how to make our club better!
Wednesday Night Racing intro - Wed19 March -A great way to become a better sailor. Come out and find out how you can get involved in this casual and fun event. Enjoy camaraderie at LaHacienda with everyone Too!!!!
Force Five is coming sooner than you think. – Sat 22 March

Wednesday night racing is coming fast. -Wed 2 April

PPYC Work Day – Come out and lend a hand and have some fun too! – Sat April 5
Sailing Raft ups and Sail to lunch events starting in May. – Looking for folks that want to help coordinate!
Boat Handling Classes – Coming soon. Tips and tricks of docking, undocking, trailering and securing your vessel

February 22

This class will introduce you to the navigational concepts required for coastal sailing.

Cooking and Food Safety Class

March 1

Learn by actually cooking a meal. This class will deepen your understanding of food prep and food safety. You will also gain knowledge on what's needed when you volunteer for food services events. Learn a lot and have fun eating it!

Online Learning at the Helm Tuesdays March 2025

Join us for Online Learning at the Helm sessions Tuesdays in March 2025, 7:00 to 8:30 PM. Each week we will feature a different topic. After registering you will receive a link for the online conference. Press "Register now" for more information.

Intro to Splicing and Whipping

Commodore’s Meet and Greet

Come out and meet our new Commodore and enjoy some Heavy Hors d' oeuvres with fellow PPYC members. Reservations closed as of 3.4.2025

Wednesday Night Racing Meet and Greet

March 19

This is your year to start a Wednesday Night Sailboat Race tradition. Come out for a review of WNR procedures and a brief intro to racing rules. New sailors are invited and encouraged to attend.

We'll meet on the deck from 6 to 7 and then head down the road to La Hacienda…

Force Five Regatta

March 22

The Force Five Regatta is our first sailing event of the season. Come out and let’s get back to sailing.

Snow-Free Annual Meeting (2025)

After getting pushed back a week by a snowstorm, it was standing room only at the 2025 PPYC Annual Meeting. Members considered two big orders of business: installing the new board of directors and voting on a membership dues increase.
