Eight Bells Ceremony / Final Sail for Jim Vaillancourt – Saturday, August 30, 2025
We gathered to honor and celebrate the life of fellow sailor Jim Vaillancourt with an Eight Bells Ceremony and a final sail in his memory.
A heartfelt thank-you to Reggie Tullos for coordinating with Jim’s family, especially his daughter Andrea, and to Richard Lewis for providing a wonderful meal for all. Our own Melinda Whitley provided a wonderful violin music medley for the event. Special appreciation also goes to the skippers who welcomed Jim’s loved ones aboard for a beautiful afternoon on the water:

The ceremony was moved up slightly to allow for more time sailing. Our apologies to anyone who may have missed the service because of the change.
It was truly a lovely day, and a fitting tribute to Jim’s life and love of sailing.
