LATH ONLINE: Your First Step to Sailing Like a Pro!

Heather Steel

Every March, a crew of seasoned club skippers comes together to host this 4-week online program, running Tuesdays from 7–8:30 PM. Whether you're brand new to sailing or just need a refresher before hitting the water in April, this course is the perfect way to get your sea legs ready.

Following the US Sailing Basic Keelboat guide, our sessions cover essential sailing know-how—from boat terminology (there’s a LOT of it!) and safety protocols to points of sail, right-of-way rules, and classic commands like “hard-a-lee!” (Trust us, you’ll love saying it.)

Guiding you through it all are our expert skippers: Joe Campbell, George Blue, Kenny Cooper, and Vice Commodore Brian Daugherty, with special guest appearances from Kathy Turk and other club members who pop in to share their wisdom (and a few great sailing stories).

Why Join?
Did we mention that Percy Priest Yacht Club is the only sailing club in the area offering this level of education? And you don’t even have to be a member to start! This is a fantastic opportunity to learn in a relaxed, supportive environment before stepping onto a boat.

Even better? LATH on the Water launches Tuesday, April 1st (no foolin’!) at the Hamilton Creek Sailboat Dock—and Online LATH is the perfect way to prepare.

Ready to Set Sail?
If you've been dreaming about sailing or just want to meet some awesome people while learning something new, join us Tuesday nights from April through August (5–8 PM). Who knows? You might love it so much that one day you’ll be leading a LATH session yourself!

See you on the water! 🌊⛵
