Splicing - Hands On

About 20 club members spent part of their Saturday learning the nautical skill of line splicing. Jackson Miller and David Curtze showed everyone different types of line and the tools needed to spice two lines together. Members learned about creating basic eye splices and soft shackles as well as creating loops from single lines of rope. After watching the demonstrations, everyone got to try it themselves as they made their own soft shackles and continuous loops using the tools provided.
