Two teams traveled to Indianapolis to compete in their Governers Cup Regatta with Eagle Creek Sailing Club. This is their largest regatta, and they pair it with their Lobsterfest and a lot of Hoosier Hospitality. As far as sailing goes, it was mostly a floater. Saturday, we took to the water. But the best we could muster was a raft up because the wind did not cooperate for racing. (I think my team enjoyed the raft up and swimming that ensued almost as much as the race we took a bullet in.)
On Sunday we were able to get off three races and the middle race actually had some decent wind . . . along with a downpour of rain.
Traveling were the Go Hogs Go team made up of George Heintz, Jackson Miller and Sonny Keith. Also, the J/22 519 Team of Fred Bartrom, Jessica Goff and Brian Dougherty made the trip. We are looking forward to reconnecting with several soon as some of the Eagle Creek teams will be traveling to Nashville to race with us in the Equalizer Regatta.
